Luxury Craftmanship

Each candle requires meticulous work to find the perfect balance between the perfume concentrate, the blend of waxes and the wick all to ensure optimal burning.

Using your Candle Properly

When using the candle for the first time, leave it to burn for 2 or 3 hours, until all the wax has become liquid on the surface. This will prevent the wax from becoming hollow later on or forming a well around the wick.

Never leave a lit candle unattended and never let it burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Do not move your candle when lit or when the wax is still liquid. The candle should be placed on a flat, heat-resistant surface and not in direct contact with precious surface.

To extinguish the candle, it is recommended you use a lid or snuffer to avoid smoke and any splashing of liquid wax.

Keep the candle out of reach of children and pets.

Taking Care of the Wick

Be sure to centre the wick in the wax after each use for consistent consumption of the wax. This will ensure the glass does not overheat. The wick flame should not touche the container.

Before any use, cut the with the wick trimmer (the length should be approximetaly 5mm) to prevent the candle from emitting smoke and the wickfailing into the wax.

Recycling your Candle

A candle is finished, when 5mm of wax remains or the metal wick sustainer becomes visible.

The glass container can be kept and used as you see fit, as vases, pencil pot, tealight holder etc.

Maison L'Athenien Interior - Reed Diffuser is a decorative object.

The home fragrance diffuser is recommended for scenting large areas (250ml = 20sqm approx.). It is based on a simple but effective diffusion process: plant capillary action.

Just insert the natural rattan reeds into the glass container: they will absorb the fragrance concentrate and diffuse it into the atmosphere.

When using for the first time, allow the rattan reeds to absorb the fragrance concentrate for 5 to 6 hours, then drain them off into the inside of the glass container and turn them upside down. This will cause diffusion to start.

Once the concentrate has been exhausted, the diffuser can be refilled. Each diffuser has a lifespan of at least 3 months.

When you are not using the diffuser, we recommend to sealed with the cap so that it retains its full fragrance for as long as possible.

If the packet has not been opened, we recommend storing scented inserts for no longer than 18 months and keeping them at room temperature. 

Avoid prolonged exposure of the scented insert to temperatures above 40°C/105°F.

Living in the present but looking to the future, certain Masion L'Athenien products, can be refilled, reused and recycled.

Masion L'Athenien reed diffuser bottles, you can refill your perfume as often as you like.

Use the empty candle containers, reed diffuser bottles and packaging materials to decorate your home based on your creativity and immagination (vase, pencil pot, tealight holder etc).

Warmer temperatures, such as those experience during the summer months, can intensify the projection of fragrances. Heat causes the fragrance molecules to evaporate more rapidly, making the scent more noticable and potentially stronger. It's advisable to choose lighter, fresher and citrusy fragrances for hot weather to prevent overpowering effects.

In contrast, colder temperatures tend to slow down the evaporation process of fragrance molecules. This can result in the fragrance having a longer lifespan. During winter or cooler weather, you can choose richer, spicier or woody scents that can provide a comforting and cozy aura.

In humid conditions, such as tropical climates or during rainy seasons, fragrances may become more pronounced and intense. The moisture in the air can interact with the fragrance molecules, enhacing their diffusion. It is advisable to choose lighter, fresher fragrances in high humidity to prevent them from becoming overwelming.

In dry climates or during colder seasons with low humidity, fragrances may evaporate more quickly, resulting in reduced longvity. To combat this, you can choose fragrances with stronger base note, such as woody or oriental scents, which tend to have better-staying power in drier conditions.
